2027: PDP Reaffirms Ibrahim Adam Imam as Sole Candidate for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency.

By Jako Keke, May 18, 2026.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed Hon. Ibrahim Adam Imam as the party’s sole candidate for the Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency ahead of the forthcoming general elections in Taraba State.

The reaffirmation followed the conclusion of the party’s internal screening and verification processes conducted by relevant committees constituted by the PDP to oversee the nomination exercise within the constituency.

Party officials disclosed that Hon. Imam satisfied all constitutional and electoral requirements laid down by both the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), leading to his recognition as the consensus and sole aspirant cleared to fly the party’s flag for the federal constituency seat.

The development is being viewed by political observers as a strategic move by the PDP to consolidate unity and strengthen its chances in the constituency, which remains one of the key political strongholds in Taraba State.

Supporters and stakeholders from Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Local Government Areas have continued to express confidence in Hon. Imam’s leadership capacity, describing him as a grassroots politician with experience and commitment to effective representation.

Speaking shortly after the reaffirmation, party loyalists commended the screening committees for conducting what they described as a transparent and credible process, while urging members of the party to remain united and mobilize support ahead of the elections.

Hon. Ibrahim Adam Imam is expected to intensify consultations and grassroots engagements across the three local government areas as preparations gather momentum for the campaign season.

Political analysts note that the endorsement and reaffirmation of a sole candidate by the PDP may further solidify internal cohesion within the party structure in the constituency, while positioning the party for a competitive outing at the polls.

The Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency is regarded as one of the politically significant constituencies in Taraba State due to its voting strength and strategic importance in the state’s political landscape.
