TRIBUTE: Rikupki, Lawmakers Pay Last Respects to Late Ussa Political Leader

Hon. Joshua Rikupki Joshua Urenyang has paid his last respects to the late Hon. Yohanna Adaki, describing him as a committed public servant whose legacy will endure in Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The late Adaki, a former Vice Chairman of Ussa LGA and Member representing Ussa Constituency, was laid to rest amid tributes acknowledging his role as a pillar of grassroots politics and community development.

Hon. Rikupki, who attended the burial ceremony alongside Hon. John Lamba and Hon. Abubakar Tanko-Yusuf, representing Takum II and Takum I Constituencies respectively, said the deceased lived a life defined by dedication, service, and unwavering commitment to his people.

In his remarks, Rikupki urged the bereaved family to remain steadfast and uphold the values established by their late patriarch. He encouraged them to stay grounded in faith, noting that continuity in righteous living would be the greatest tribute to the deceased.

He further admonished the family not to lose sight of God, but to rely on Him for strength, guidance, and direction in the days ahead.

Quoting from the Bible, he said, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith,” adding that the late Adaki exemplified a life of purpose and impact.

The lawmaker prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for divine comfort for the family and the entire Ussa community during the period of mourning.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
