A frontline aspirant for the Gassol II State Constituency seat in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Japheth Ezekiel Dadason, has formally declared his intention to contest, pledging to pursue a people-oriented agenda anchored on development and youth empowerment.

Dadason made the declaration in a statement addressed to youths, supporters, and residents of the constituency, where he emphasised his commitment to redefining the political landscape and delivering responsive representation.

According to the aspirant, his decision to join the race was driven not by personal gain but by a desire to “change the narrative” of politics in the area through purposeful leadership and accountability.

“I stand before you today to declare my interest to contest for the seat of member representing Gassol II State Constituency. My aspiration is not to enrich myself or seek personal glory, but to transform the political atmosphere and deliver meaningful change,” he said.

Outlining his policy priorities, Dadason identified key sectors including healthcare, education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment as focal points of his proposed legislative intervention. He stressed the need to improve access to quality healthcare services, upgrade educational facilities, and invest in critical infrastructure such as roads and hospitals to stimulate economic growth and improve living standards.

The aspirant also highlighted youth empowerment as central to his agenda, noting that creating opportunities for young people would help curb unemployment and foster sustainable development in the constituency.

Political observers say the declaration adds to the growing list of aspirants positioning themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle in Taraba State, particularly in Gassol Local Government Area, where demands for improved infrastructure and social services have remained high.

Dadason called on constituents, especially the youth, to support his ambition, assuring that inclusive governance and grassroots engagement would define his approach if elected.

“I seek your mandate to serve and to work collectively towards building a better and more prosperous Gassol II,” he added.
