2027 Race: Hon Princess Leah Solomon Pushes Women’s Agenda, Declares for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Reps Seat.
By our Correspondent, April 15, 2026.
A frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency, Hon. Princess Leah Olusuyi Solomon, has formally declared her intention to contest in the 2027 general elections, pledging to prioritise women’s development and inclusive growth across the constituency.
Solomon made the declaration on Wednesday during a meeting with executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zing Local Government Area, where she received what she described as a warm reception and encouraging signals of support from party stakeholders.
Addressing party officials, the aspirant said her decision to join the race was driven by a desire to reposition the constituency through people-oriented policies, with a strong emphasis on empowering women and youth.
She called on party leaders and constituents to support her bid, stressing that the time had come to entrust leadership to women for more balanced and responsive representation.
“If given the opportunity, I will prioritise women’s development, infrastructure, education and economic advancement across Jalingo, Yorro and Zing,” she said.
Solomon also assured party members of her commitment to effective representation, noting that her legislative agenda would focus on attracting federal presence, improving social services and fostering economic opportunities within the constituency.
She expressed appreciation to the Zing APC Chairman, Hon. Udoji Teyu, and his executive team for what she termed their “acceptability and encouragement,” adding that their support underscored growing confidence in her candidacy.
Political observers say Solomon’s declaration adds to the emerging contest within the APC for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing seat, as aspirants begin early consultations ahead of the party’s primaries.
The Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency, one of the key constituencies in Taraba State, is expected to witness heightened political activities in the coming months as stakeholders weigh options for credible and electable candidates.
Solomon, however, maintained that her aspiration is anchored on unity and collective progress, urging party faithful to work together towards building a more prosperous constituency.
“We will collectively pursue a course to build a better Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency,” she affirmed.
