NPF: Dongshal Takes Charge as 33rd Taraba Police Commissioner, Pledges Security Overhaul.

The has announced the assumption of duty of CP Morkwap S. Dongshal as the 33rd Commissioner of Police in the state, signaling a renewed push toward strengthening security and operational efficiency.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Command said Dongshal officially took over leadership with over three decades of policing experience, bringing with him a strong focus on public safety, professionalism, and community-oriented policing.

His appointment, according to the Command, forms part of broader reforms by the aimed at enhancing security architecture and improving service delivery nationwide.

The statement was signed by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Victor Mshelizah, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.

Speaking shortly after assuming office, CP Dongshal reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Taraba State. He stressed the adoption of intelligence-led policing and proactive crime prevention strategies as key pillars of his administration.

The new police chief also underscored the need for strengthened collaboration among security agencies and active engagement with community stakeholders to sustain peace and stability in the state.

Dongshal called on residents to support the police with timely and credible information, noting that effective policing requires public cooperation to combat crime and criminality.

The Command expressed confidence that under his leadership, it would consolidate on existing security frameworks while improving discipline and professionalism in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, .

It further appealed to the public for continued support as the Command works to maintain a safe and secure environment across Taraba State.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention.
