Fifth Sunday of Lent: Cleric Urges Faith, Hope Amid Challenges.

The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, has called on Christians to strengthen their faith and trust in God’s power to restore hope, even in difficult situations.

In a message to mark the Fifth Sunday of Lent, Fr. Muke reflected on the Gospel passage of John 11:1–45, which recounts the raising of Lazarus, describing it as a powerful reminder of God’s ability to bring life out of despair.

He quoted Jesus Christ’s declaration, “I am the Resurrection and the Life,” urging believers to remain steadfast in faith, even when faced with what may appear to be delayed answers to prayers. According to him, God’s timing remains perfect and capable of overcoming every obstacle.

Drawing lessons from the experiences of Martha and Mary of Bethany, the cleric encouraged Christians not to lose hope in moments of uncertainty, noting that divine intervention often comes at the most appropriate time.

Fr. Muke further advised the faithful to use the Lenten season as a period of spiritual renewal through repentance, love, and compassion for one another. He emphasized the need for believers to rise above fear, sin, and doubt, and embrace a life transformed by grace.

The cleric expressed optimism that the message of the season would strengthen the faith of Christians and adequately prepare them for the celebration of Easter and the joy of the Resurrection.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
