The Board Chairperson of the Taraba State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Leah Olusiyi Solomon, has resigned from her position to pursue elective office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a formal resignation letter dated March 27, 2026, and addressed to the Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, Solomon stated that her resignation takes effect from March 28, 2026.
She explained that her decision followed “overwhelming encouragement” from her constituents, prompting her to answer what she described as a call to higher service. According to her, she intends to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives to represent the Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing federal constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Solomon noted that stepping down from her role as CSDA Board Chairperson became necessary to enable her focus on the political ambition, in line with ethical expectations surrounding public office and electoral participation.
“I have been moved by the overwhelming encouragement of my constituents… to offer myself for service in the forthcoming general election,” she stated in the letter.
She expressed gratitude to Governor Kefas for the opportunity to serve the people of Taraba State, acknowledging his support during her tenure at the agency.
“I remain deeply grateful for the opportunity you gave me to serve the good people of Taraba State and thank you for your understanding and unwavering support,” she added.
Her resignation marks a significant political development in Taraba State, as stakeholders begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 polls.
