POLITICS: APC Commends Progress of Electronic Registration in Taraba.

By our Correspondent, January 29, 2026.
The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the ongoing electronic registration exercise initiated by the party’s national leadership, describing it as a major step toward strengthening the party’s structure.

The State Secretary of the APC, Hon. Fidelis Francis, made the commendation while assessing the progress of the exercise in Taraba State. He disclosed that the initiative has been warmly embraced by party members, noting that Taraba currently ranks third in the North-East zone, behind Adamawa and Borno states, in terms of registration turnout.

According to him, concerted efforts are being intensified to ensure that more members are registered, a move he said would give Taraba State a stronger edge in the near future.

Hon. Francis appreciated Governor Agbu Kefas and the party leadership for their effective mobilisation, which he said has contributed to the smooth conduct of the exercise across the state. He added that the APC remains open to new members, urging interested individuals to take advantage of the exercise, as the party is now regarded as the most digitised political party in Africa.

He further commended the unity among party stalwarts in the state, stressing that internal cohesion would promote internal democracy and pave the way for greater development in Taraba.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the APC in the Northern Zone, Hon. Solomon Jadana, has also called for unity among party members in the zone, saying it is crucial to strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Jadana made the call during an interview with our correspondent in Jalingo, where he praised Governor Agbu Kefas for taking what he described as a bold step to align Taraba State with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He noted that the decision would attract increased development to the state.

The Deputy Chairman expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout of members participating in the ongoing electronic registration exercise nationwide, describing it as a positive signal for the party.

He said it was a moment of joy for the APC to assume leadership of Taraba State after spending more than 20 years in opposition. According to him, residents have already begun to witness the benefits, including the initiation of several projects such as road construction and the promotion of unity in governance.

While acknowledging the developmental efforts of former governors, Jolly Nyame and Danbaba Suntai, Hon. Jadana expressed confidence that Governor Agbu Kefas would surpass previous achievements, given the number of projects currently being executed across the state.

Hailing from Yorro Local Government Area, Hon. Jadana also lauded the Chairperson of Yorro Local Government Council, Hon. Martina Anthony, for ensuring a smooth and successful party membership registration exercise in the area.
On the planned civic reception in honour of Governor Agbu Kefas over his entry into the APC, scheduled to hold on Saturday at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo, Hon. Jadana urged party supporters from all parts of the state to come out in large numbers to grace the occasion.
