The Federal Government has concluded plans to rehabilitate the deteriorating Pamanga Bridge in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Controller of Works in the state, Engr. Usman Ibrahim, disclosed this in Jalingo during an interview with our correspondent. He explained that a team of engineers had visited the site for an assessment, after which emergency repairs would commence to address the most affected portion of the bridge.
According to him, the government is aware of the challenges posed by the bridge’s condition and has already carried out palliative work to keep the road accessible. A detailed report on the bridge’s state has also been forwarded to the ministry’s headquarters.
Engr. Ibrahim further revealed that major rehabilitation would be executed during the dry season when water levels recede, allowing for permanent repair work. He noted that measures to prevent water from eroding the structure have already been mapped out.
He assured residents and road users in Taraba that the Federal Government is committed to restoring the bridge, appealing for patience as the repair process begins.
