Chairman TSBPCM Bishop Innocent Solomon commends Gov Kefas for setting up the Peace Commission of Enquiry for the Karim Lamido Crisis.

The Chairman of the Taraba State Bureau For Peace And Conflict Management (TSBPCM) Bishop Innocent Rubiruka Solomon has commended the wisdom of H.E Dr Agbu Kefas The Executive Governor of Taraba State for setting up a Peace Commission of Enquiry into a recent violent crisis that rocked Karim Lamido LGA and other related situations with consequential losses of lives and property and disruption of peace and harmony in some parts of the state.

The chairman stressed that there is no overlapping of functions of the Commission of Enquiry with the already established Bureau and called on Tarabans to support this laudable, multidimensional initiative of H.E Dr Agbu Kefas to tackle conflict situation in the state to bring about lasting peace and harmony amongst people and communities in Taraba State.
The Bureau, he asserts, is a permanent, sustainable institutional approach to peacebuilding and conflict management through prevention (EW/ER), mediation, collaboration, dialogue, capacity building, and conflict transformation mechanisms. It is not ADHOC.
A Peace Commission of Enquiry is to address specific cases of escalated and violent conflict situations with judicial processes involved to identify root causes, immediate and remote, and offer strategic recommendations for Government interventions.
He said, as a matter of fact, the Bureau will be useful, complimentary, and critical in assisting the Peace Commission of Enquiry to succeed since, through her conflict mapping and assessment of the state, has already developed some useful road maps in her TARABA PEACE FRAMEWORK towards achieving conflict transformation in the state.
