Special Adviser to the Governor Agbu Kefas on Inter-Party Affairs, Hon. Bako Jonah has applauded feats recorded as he clocked two years in office.
Hon. Bako Jonah, in a chat with newsmen,, highlighted indelible records of the Governor since assuming office in the state.
The SA mentioned since assuming office, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to inclusive governance, uniting Tarabans across political, ethnic, and religious lines.
He added that Governor Kefas's administration has extended an olive branch to opposition parties, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes the collective progress of our state.

Hon Bako was quoted saying, "This inclusive approach has strengthened unity and created a platform for dialogue, ensuring that every voice is heard in the governance process."

On Empowering Women and Youths in Leadership and Governance, the Special Adviser remarked that a defining feature of this administration is its commitment to empowering women and youths by appointing them to key government positions, including commissioners, special advisers, and special assistants.
He stated that these strategic appointments reflect His Excellency’s belief in the potential of women and youths to drive transformative change.
" By entrusting them with critical roles in policy formulation and implementation, the administration has ensured that their perspectives shape the state’s development agenda. Additionally, targeted initiatives such as leadership training, skills acquisition programs, and support for entrepreneurship have empowered women and youths to excel in various sectors, positioning them as key drivers of Taraba’s growth" said Bako.
Another area worthy of note is empowering Local Governments for Grassroots Development. According to him, one of the hallmarks of this administration is its dedication to grassroots development.
He pointed out that the timely release of funds to local government council chairmen has catalyzed significant progress across our communities, adding that these resources have been channeled into meaningful projects that address the needs of our people, from infrastructure to social services.
Hon Bako said Following a recent tour of local government areas, "I am deeply impressed by the level of prudence, accountability, and transparency exhibited by council chairmen in the execution of projects. A comprehensive and honest report of these developmental strides will be submitted to further guide our collective efforts".
Hon Jonah explained that Taraba State is on the cusp of an economic renaissance reiterating that In recent months, we have witnessed an influx of high-profile investors and business leaders exploring opportunities in our state.
The SA noted that this growing interest is a testament to the investor-friendly policies of His Excellency’s administration. We are optimistic that these engagements will soon translate into transformative investments, creating job opportunities, stimulating economic growth, and providing sustainable livelihoods for our unemployed youth.
Bako Jonah also mentioned that the administration’s commitment to education is nothing short of revolutionary, saying through the implementation of free and compulsory education, His Excellency has significantly reduced the number of out-of-school children, alleviating the financial burden on parents and ensured that every child has access to quality education.
He said the ongoing construction of modern primary schools across the state further underscores this commitment, laying a strong foundation for the future of our children and our state.
Also notable is that under Dr Agbu Kefas’ leadership, Taraba State has become a beacon of peace and security as his deliberate and proactive approach to addressing security challenges has drastically reduced incidents of kidnapping and other social vices, creating a safe environment for all Tarabans to thrive and commended His Excellency for prioritizing the safety of lives and property, ensuring that our state remains a haven of peace.
Bako said the health sector has undergone a remarkable transformation under this administration. The recent deployment of mobile ambulances across the state, coupled with the equipping of hospitals and consistent supply of essential drugs, has significantly improved healthcare delivery. These efforts reflect His Excellency’s commitment to ensuring that every Taraban has access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
"In agriculture, the administration’s impact is undeniable. The provision of tractors and other farming inputs has empowered farmers, boosting productivity and ensuring food security. Farmers across Taraba are now approaching their work with renewed optimism, confident in the support of a government that prioritizes their success. These efforts will not only enhance agricultural output but also contribute to the economic prosperity of our state." According to the S.A.
He was also quoted saying, "Having assessed the remarkable strides in infrastructure and development at the local government level, it is evident that the current two-year tenure for local council chairmen is insufficient to sustain and build upon these achievements. We propose an extension of the tenure to three years, which would provide chairmen with the time needed to implement and consolidate long-term developmental projects. The Office of the Special Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs and IPAC will engage relevant stakeholders, including the state legislature and civil society, to advocate for this extension, ensuring that it aligns with the aspirations of our people".
The Special Adviser revealed that
After a thorough evaluation of the administration’s performance across all sectors, the Office of the Special Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs and the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas. His visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to development, and dedication to the welfare of Tarabans have set our state on a path of unprecedented progress. We reaffirm our total commitment and unalloyed support for his administration as it continues to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Taraba State.
He reminded Tarabans that as we celebrate this second anniversary, we call on all Tarabans to continue supporting the administration’s transformative agenda. Together, we can build a Taraba that is prosperous, inclusive, and secure for all.
Hon Bako Jonah also expressed gratitude to the media for their role in amplifying the achievements of this administration and fostering constructive dialogue.
