BILL: Taraba State House of Assembly today held a public Hearing on Bio-Entreprenuership Innovation and Solutions Agency Establishment Bill.

Taraba State House of Assembly Joint Committee on Science and Technology, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation has held a Public Hearing in respect of the Bio Entrepreneurship Innovation and Solutions Agency Establishment Bill.

 The public hearing was aimed at gathering public opinions from the stakeholders to further strengthen the passage of the Bill and establishment of the agency.

Addressing the stakeholders present, the Chairman of the committee Hon Joshua Urenyang Rikupki said the Bill is not only timely but will enhance the growth of industries, boost food production and provide job opportunities for the youths and called on the stakeholders to make inputs that would facilitate the passage of the Bill.

Joshua Rikupki who appreciated the stakeholders for their presence at the public hearing, assured them that their contributions will be considered.

          
Briefing the Committee on the importance of the Bill, A resources person, Agbu Josiah said the goal to the establish the agency is to promote Agricultural, Bio-technology Based Industries and diversity of the State's ecosystem, equip the people with Skills in Agriculture, Business and Technology towards sustaining environment by encouraging sustainable farming and conservation processes among others.

Agbu added that the available resources in the state will be use to drive innovations and apply it in the system.
        
On his part Thomas Tentishe Luka of the Biology Department Taraba state state University Jalingo said the Bill was timely as it will go along way to tackle the challenges of food scarcity and the degradation ecosystem in the state and economic situation of the state.

The stakeholders from the Ministries of Science and Technology, Agriculture, Justice, Taraba State Environmental Protection Agency among others declared total support to the Bill and tendered their submissions to the committee.

Also, the Taraba State House of Assembly Committee on Education, was at the Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board in continuation of its Oversight visit it embarked upon yesterday.

Speaking during the visit, the Committee Chairman Hon Angye Josiah Yaro applauded the leadership and staff of the Board for their dedication and commitment to duty, especially as it relates to the smooth implementation of the free education policy of Governor Agbu Kefas.

The Chairman further enlightened them on the purpose of their visit which was aimed at reviewing their performances on the budget recieved. 
            
In a remark, Acting Chairperson SUBEB,Rabi Sunday commended the committee for the visit notting that it is the first of its kind since her time in the service saying the visit will spur them to sit up to their responsibilities.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
