PEACE DAY: PRESIDENT NATIONAL COUNCIL OF NGOs COMR NASHUKA CANVASSES SUPPORT TO TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS TO SUSTAINED PEACE.
Government at all levels have been asked to support the traditional institutions in building peace in the society.
President National Council of NGOs and CSOs in Nigeria Taraba State Chapter Comrd Nashuka Fidelis made the call while commenting on twenty twenty four International Day of Peace in Jalingo.
The president remarked that the traditional rulers play a critical role in peace building initiative in the society particularly at the grassroots hence the need for governments to give them the needed support to succeed.
He averred that development can only thrive in a peaceful atmosphere calling on the people to always promote peaceful living for a better society.
Nashuka added that the theme for year's commemoration "Cultivating a culture of Peace " was Apt as peace is not just a one man business.
The President Lauded the effort of Dr Agbu Kefas the Governor of Taraba State for sustaining peace which he said has led active engagement of farmers into farming this year.
He also stressed the need for maximum support to the Mental health and Well ness Committee constituted by the Governor to succeed in working on the mental health of the people for the prevalence of peace.
The Twenty-first, September annual is being observed as an International Day of Peace.
