Tax Justice Network Taraba in collaboration with TinT follow Tax has organised a Two day workshop for stakeholders to discuss issues bothering taxes.
The event was held at the Fast Track Hotel conference Hall Jalingo.
The interactive session drew participants from Market Union leaders,the media, Taraba State Internal Revenue Service and NGOs.
Speaking at the opening of the session,the State lead Tax Justice Network Taraba Comrade Nashuka Fidelis enjoined participants to voice out their contribution to help to address tax reforms in the state.
Comrade Nashuka Fidelis who doubled as President National Council of NGOs and CSOs in Nigeria Taraba State Chapter commended the participants for availing themselves to be part of the project.
The executive Director of Follow Taxes Haliru Ahmad Khalifa said harmonisation of taxes is crucial in mitigating tax excesses.
He reminded participants that they have critical roles to play in shaping the process in Taraba State as it has been obtainable in other states of the federation.
At the session, participants submitted a template on how harmonisation of taxes can be effective in addressing extortion and leakages.
In his presentation a Director from the Taraba State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning explained the budget cycle as a way to effective service in the state.
