TARABA SWAN ELECTION: Comr. Sani Suleiman of FRCN emerged as Chairman of the Association.


Taraba State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN has elected new officials to pilot the affairs of the Association for the next three years.
The new officials include Sani Suleiman, Chairman, Nahum Sule,Financial Secretary and Charles Akpeji,Secretary.
Others are Ruth Rimamsikwe,Treasurer,Jude Gandu,Vice Chairman and Mansura Sadiq Moyoyo,Welfare Officer.
Inaugurating the officials,the SWAN President, Isaiah Benjamin, represented by the Vice President, North East  Zone,Ahmed Amshi, charged the newly elected officials to justify the confidence reposed in them and work assiduously towards promoting sports in the State.
Earlier, the out gone chairman of the Association, Joachim Dangana Bandawa highlighted series of achievements recorded during his stewardship which include Award Night and establishment of cordial relationship with sister unions such the NUJ among others.
Various SWAN veterans from within and outside the state such as the former National Deputy President, Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo and the National Ex officio, Abbas Shehu among other personalities took turns to congratulate the elected executives and charged them to work harder to propel the Association to greater height.
There were goodwill messages from the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Matthew Eliud Jen,General Manager, Gift FM,Jalingo Alkasim Bala as well as the Chairman,State Correspondents' Chapel, Gabriel Yough among others.

TARABA: Jenjo Youth Wing Disowns Magaji Gago’s Alleged Remarks Against Kefas, Reaffirms Loyalty.

The leadership of the Jenjo Youth Wing has publicly distanced itself from alleged remarks credited to Mr. Magaji Bulus Gago, popularly known as Max B, against Taraba State Governor, , and the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, . INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
