Religion: FCS Taraba State Chapter calls for sensitisation on consumption of alcohol, illicit drugs in the state.

Fellowship of Christian Students writes Christian clergymen letter to sensitize members on consumption of Illicit substance and alcohol.

LETTER OF APPEAL TO PASTORS.
Sir,
There is a dangerous weapon the enemy is using to destroy people in this generation which usually affects their productivity and sometimes leads to complications resulting in death, which is Drugs/Substance Abuse & Alcohol.
Considering the negative impact 26th June yearly is set aside as UN Day against Drugs/Substance Abuse & Illegal Trafficking. The Theme for 2024 is The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention.

As FCS we usually take advantage of that Day to carry out intervention Campaigns among students to help mitigate the impact of this monster.
We write to appeal that you join us in this Campaign this year by doing all or any of the following:
Spare 3 to 5 minutes the next Sunday to talk about this with your members. Note this affects not only the youth.
Delegate Elders, where possible people who are professionals to visit different groups, especially the younger ones (Boys Brigade,  Youth Fellowship, Church Band etc ) in the Church during their next meeting to engage them in a meaningful interaction.
Encourage teachers in your congregation to take responsibility to talk to their pupils and students against experimenting drugs/ hard substances and alcohol.
Anything you consider helpful in your wisdom. For example, the Drama group of the Church can stage a playlet during service to communicate a strong message.

WE CANNOT AFFORD TO FOLD OUR HANDS & WATCH THE ENEMY DESTROY OUR CHILDREN/BRETHREN.
