Church: Southern Conference of United Methodist Church UMC in Taraba State distances itself from approval of Same-sex marriage.

The Leadership of the United Methodist Church UMC Southern Conference have frowned at the approval of Same-sex marriage by the United Methodist Church General Assembly recently.

The Southern Conference leadership in a press conference in Jalingo said the lifting of the ban on homosexuals at the UMC General Conference held in Charlotte North Carolina was unholy, unethical and unbiblical.

Addressing the Journalists at the United Methodist Church UMC Mayo Gwoi Jalingo, the leader of the Church Reverend Philip Micah Dopah remarked that the decision would not see the light of day in the Southern Conference of the United Methodist as they are well grounded in the teaching of the Holy Bible.

He said during the General Assembly about ninety-three per cent of the delegates voted in favour of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning or queer, LGBTQ.

According to him, measures have been put in place to discuss the ugly incident that is against Nigeria's constitution, and the African tradition, with the registered trustees, cabinet members, Board of laity, and council on ministries which will lead to a special call session to unveil it's stands on the matter.

The church leaders however called on members to remain calm as they are committed to correcting the teaching of the church by the Bible.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.
