Sanitation: Wukari Council boss Agbu Samaila flags up sanitation in the area to ensure cleanliness.

Chairman Wukari Local Government Council, Honourable Dauda Agbu Samaila has flagged up an end-of-the-month sanitation exercise in the area.

The exercise which will be conducted on the last Saturday of each month began yesterday Saturday the 27th of April, 2024.

The council boss said the main objective is to ensure that the Wukari metropolis is kept clean all the time.

He added that this is also to compliment the already introduced sanitation exercise by His Excellency, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas where hundreds of women have been engaged to sweep the town daily.

The chairman remarked that the duration of the exercise is 7 AM to 10 AM every last Saturday of the month.

Agbu enjoined the general public to turn up en mass and participate in this noble cause of ensuring that we live in a clean environment.

The Chairman appreciated those who found out time to witness the flagging of the exercise in Wukari.

 During the sanitation civil society organizations which comprises the Samuel and Deborah Foundation, Youth of Vision, and the Red Cross were in attendance serving as partners in the exercise.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped. RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area. He remarked that the Seminary established in 1946 by the United Methodist Church agencies and donors has been manned by the church and has continued to fund the Seminary that has trained many clergy of the UMC, including him.
