Water: MD TAWASCo Engr Siam assures of water supply to customers in Jalingo-

As water scarcity bites harder in Jalingo the Taraba State Capital, Taraba State Water and Sewerage Corporation says it will supply water to its customers today. Managing Director Taraba State Water and Sewerage Corporation Buba Musa Siam hinted to our reporter while commenting on the corporation's efforts to meet the Water needs of the masses in Jalingo. He remarked that its services were held as a result of a power outage following the vandalisation of the Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN mast on the Jos-Bauch axis. Buba Musa Siam said the corporation has resorted to using its generator to ensure supply, adding that though it is for many days as the cost of diesel is high. The Managing Director appreciated the prompt response of the Governor in ensuring that water is supplied to the customers to address the water challenge. Campus: TSU Jalingo fresh graduates ask to be good ambassadors.

David Bazoka made a call while congratulating the Twenty twenty-three graduates on their sign-out ceremony yesterday at the school premises in Jalingo. The SUG president remarked that they have drilled in academic activities leading to their final Examinations and subsequent sign-out. Sanitation: Wukari Council boss Agbu Samaila flags up sanitation in the area to ensure cleanliness.

Chairman Wukari Local Government Council, Honourable Dauda Agbu Samaila has flagged up an end-of-the-month sanitation exercise in the area. The exercise which will be conducted on the last Saturday of each month began yesterday Saturday the 27th of April, 2024. The council boss said the main objective is to ensure that the Wukari metropolis is kept clean all the time. He added that this is also to compliment the already introduced sanitation exercise by His Excellency, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas where hundreds of women have been engaged to sweep the town daily. The chairman remarked that the duration of the exercise is 7 AM to 10 AM every last Saturday of the month. Education: Taraba lawmaker donates Solar-powered touch lights to students from his Constituency in Yola.

According to the legislator, the response followed a letter of assistance soliciting support for students from Nguroje Constituency by the President Nguroje Constituency Students Association Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola Adamawa State Chapter Comrd Kabir Hamisu Nguroje. Union: Taraba NUT Boss Comrd Nathan Solomon bags award of excellence.

Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT Taraba State Chapter has bagged an award of excellence. The award presentation of icon of human development was performed by the National Coordinator coalition of Civil Society Group at the Chairman's office in Jalingo. Sanitation: Unpaid Sanitation workers stage protest in Jalingo.

Unpaid Taraba Sweepers stage protest call on Gov Agbu Kefas to wave into their plights. Some members of operation Keep Taraba clean yesterday stage a protest calling on authorities concern to pay them their entitlements. The protesters who were carrying placards with different inscriptions such 'Pay us our allowance',' SGS Must Go' 'We were only paid one month' 'We worked for it give us' among others. A source who spoke with Jalingo Times and preferred not to named said they their protest followed what he described as injustice in the payment of their allowances. The source said though Governor Agbu Kefas had approved money for the payment of their outstanding four months allowances,but some of the sweepers got one,two months payment while others were not paid at All. Record-making: Asogha Wunuji Manasseh to set world record in Read-A-Thon Marathon.

Asogya Wunuji Manasseh, from Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State has completed an attempt to break Guinness World Record for the longest reading aloud marathon. World Record: Taraba Parents urged to promote reading culture among their children.

Taraba state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has congratulated the winner of the just concluded Readathon contest, Asogha Wunuji. The congratulatory message is contained in a press statement by the Special to the Governor on Media and Digital Communications,Mr Emmanuel Bello. According to the statement Dr Kefas described the feat as a testament to the strength of willpower. It adds that the governor, who had earlier met Wunuji at the Government Lodge, Wukari, said he knew the competitor would make it.   It further adds that Dr Agbu Kefas said, he saw the determination in his eyes and knew instinctively that he has what it takes to go for it." Agriculture: Tractors will soon be distributed to Taraba farmers.

Taraba State Farmers have been assured of timely distribution of tractors purchased by Governor Agbu Kefas. Commissioner ministry of Agriculture and Food Security Professor Nicholas Namessan Oliver gave the assurance in an interface with newsmen at the Taraba State Transport Corporation, TSTC Workshop in Jalingo. He said the distribution of the tractors would be made in line with Governor Agbu Kefas template by ensuring that all farmers are carried along. Professor Nicholas Namessan Oliver opined that two hundred big tractors and seven hundred and fifty mini tractors are expected in the state. Festival: Revival of Nwonyo fishing and Cultural festival is a boom to Taraba State.

Festival: Nwonyo fishing competition winner goes home with a brand new car.

A stamina Fisherman, Hudu Yakuba has emerged winner of Nwonyo fishing competition. Nuhu who outsmart other fishermen that participated at the Fishing competition went home with a brand new car. The fish he caught at lake Nwonyo village in Ibi local government area of Taraba State was weighed one hundred and seventy Kilograms (170kgms). The brand new car keys were presented to him (Nuhu) by the Chairman of the Planning committee an Eldeslrstateman General TY Danjuma at the admiration of the Governor Doctor Agbu Kefas at the venue of the festival. The second runner up at fishing competition caught a fish weighed one hundred and fifty (150kgms) while the third position went to a Fisherman whose fish was weighed one hundred and twenty Kilograms (120kgms).
