World Record: Taraba Parents urged to promote reading culture among their children.


Taraba state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has congratulated the winner of the just concluded Readathon contest, Asogha Wunuji.

The congratulatory message is contained in a press statement by the Special to the Governor on Media and Digital Communications,Mr Emmanuel Bello.

According to the statement Dr Kefas described the feat as a testament to the strength of willpower.

It adds that the governor, who had earlier met Wunuji at the Government Lodge, Wukari, said he knew the competitor would make it. 

 It further adds that Dr Agbu Kefas said, he saw the determination in his eyes and knew instinctively that he has what it takes to go for it."

The Governor,Dr Kefas noted that Wunuji's victory should serve as a source of encouragement to young people that they can achieve anything they set their mind on.

He urged young people to always support each other as a victory for one belongs to all of them. The Governor emphasised the need for teamwork as Wunuji's friends did at the contest. 

Dr. Kefas said the reading competition aligns with the free education policy of the administration, stressing that libraries are a component of effective learning. 

Relatedly, the governor admonished parents to ensure their wards imbibe a reading culture.  He said books are clear paths to success and a veritable compass for life.

TARABA: Jenjo Youth Wing Disowns Magaji Gago’s Alleged Remarks Against Kefas, Reaffirms Loyalty.

The leadership of the Jenjo Youth Wing has publicly distanced itself from alleged remarks credited to Mr. Magaji Bulus Gago, popularly known as Max B, against Taraba State Governor, , and the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, . INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
