Crime: Justice Agya orders arrest of former Takum LG boss Tikari, other over killing of Hosea Ibi.

 Taraba State High Court in Jalingo has  convicted Mwage Iormaga and  Aondoungwa David to life imprisonment each for the Kidnapped of Late Hosea Ibi. 

They were convicted for the Kidnapped of Late Hosea Ibi in Takum Local Government Area.

Delivering the judgement,the Taraba State Chief Judge, Justice Filibus Agya said the State Counsel in their submissions proved the case beyond reasonable doubts hence the conviction of the duo.

The Court said the convicts had in the testimonies during trial confirmed that they kidnapped  the former legislator late Hosea Ibi on the directive of Shiban Tikari and One Terluka his alias in Takum on December thirtieth twenty seventeen.

Agya said the court found them guilty of Criminal Conspiracy,Armed Robbery and Kidnapping which is punishable by the Taraba state Kidnapping and Abduction prohibition law number six of twenty ten and penal code.

He said they were not sentenced according to Kidnapping and Abduction prohibition amended law twenty Nineteen  because their counsel pleaded with the court that they committed the offence in twenty seventeen.

The court however discharged and acquitted the duo from Culpable homicide charge label against them, Saying the prosecution counsel failed to proved the case before the court.

The court said their sentencing run concurrently with each on life imprisonment.

Justice Agya however directed that the Taraba state Commissioner of Police  should arrest and prosecute two others indicted in the case, the Former Chairman of Takum Local Government Council,Shiban Tikari and his alias one Terkula who were identified as masterminds of the Kidnapped and killing of Hosea Ibi.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area.
