CPS to Doctor Agbu takes over office from his predecessor Elder Iliya Bekyu Akweh in Jalingo.

Chief Press Secretary to the Taraba State Governor, Yusuf Sanda takes over office from his predecessor,Iliya Bekyu Akweh.

The handover ceremony took place at Government House, Jalingo.

Speaking the outgoing Chief Press Secretary and Permanent Secretary Press Affairs, Iliya Bekyu Akweh appreciated God for seeing him throughout his stay in office.

Iliya Bekyu Akweh thanked former Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for giving him the opportunity to contribute his quota to during his tenure.

He lauded the staff of the press Department for the support and urged them to accord same to the new Chief Press Secretary.

He described his successor as a hard-working and dedicated colleague who he is optimistic that will do his best to move the department forward.

Responding,the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Yusuf Sanda appreciated the Governor Doctor Agbu Kefas for finding him worthy of the position.

Yusuf Sanda pledged to do his best as he pilot the affairs of the press affairs department and solicited cooperation and support from staff to enable him succeed.

The Chief Press Secretary appreciated his predecessor for handing over the office to him.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
