Search for Common Ground, a peace building non governmental organization has inaugurated peace Architecture Dialogue in Taraba state.
Speaking at Yukuben Hotels conference Hall, Jalingo the Project Manager, Search for Common Ground, Mr.Chorbe JOSHUA said the programme which is championing the course of peace building is funded by European Union.
He revealed that this program was established in nineteen eighty two where it is working in thirty six countries and eighteen africa nations.
Chorbe Joshua said the programme which is the second phase is to contribute to the mitigation of conflict over Natural resources between farmer and herder communities in Taraba State.
He lamented that farmers-herders clashes occuring in the Northern Nigeria has been worsen by Banditry and Violent extremism, saying in Taraba state Lau and Zing have been selected by the organization to help in addressing the menace as it borders some local government areas of Adamawa State where the programme was piloted.
On his part, the coordinator Early Warning Early Response, EWER, Search for Common Ground, Mr Solomon Adejo said members of the Peace Architecture Dialogue have enormous roles to play in peace building.
Solomon Adejo encouraged the participants to be committed in availing themselves for meetings and trainings as well as submissions on how best farmers-herders clashes in the state.
In his speech the state Coordinator Search for Commissioner Ground,Dubi Sonam said for effective service delivery the programme desired to identify the existing peace structures to work with to achieve set goals.
