OPINION: Dr. Beavens Ajiduku pens down his view on Anyim/Enenche saga.

ANYIM/ENENCHE: A PSYCHOLINGUISTIC PERSPECTIVE The event that occured at the Glory Dome in Abuja on Sunday last, &:which later turned into a melodramatic brouhaha on social media, was quite an unfortunate one.  Perhaps, a little peep into the psycholinguistic dimension of what transpired would make some things clearer. To me, the lady, Anyim, sounded like an aphasic in the two instances she spoke behind the microphone 🎤.. The first instance was when she was giving the testimony, when she said she holds a BSC Degree in Law & the second instance when she said all was well between her and her "spiritual father" instead of "spiritual parents". I'm convinced that given another opportunity, she could still grapple with her use of language. Listening to her testimony in the church, one may have noticed that the entire testimony was replete with some manifest grammatical errors (agrammatism) & malapropisms. I, initially, thought it was the huge congregation ...

Festival: Karimjo ethic group celebrates Abeh-Dah Cultural festival an annual event in Karim Lamido LGA.

By Amos Joshua Karim. THE KARIMJO (KHIYUI) ABEH-DAH CULTURAL FESTIVAL AND THE CELEBRATION THAT COMES WITH IT! The origin of a society is traceable to its norms and beliefs as these are core elements which are tied to our day-to-day activities in life. Culture encompasses the mode of behavioural exhibition centering around the code of conduct unanimously agreed by a group of people who share common ideological conceptions.  The Karimjo Abeh-Dah cultural festival as the name implies is an annual festival that celebrates the tradition, beliefs and norms of the ancestry of the Karimjo community's legendary tradition over centuries. Hence, culture is always believed to be a total way of a people's life which ranges from dressing, marriage, communication, funeral rites, eating habits amongst other practices, and as such, the Abeh-Dah festival initiative is never an accidental orchestration, but a deliberate celebration which is aimed at bringing to...

Opinion: Amb Rikwense Muri exrays the revival of the Nwonyo Fishing and Cultural festival

2024 Nwonyo Fishing and Cultural Festival: Are we Thinking Big or Starting Big? By Amb Rikwense Muri  The Almighty God from the beginning had the plan to fill the earth with humans. He also had the capacity to do it at once because He is a mighty God who can do anything and everything as He desire. He is the Great Supreme that can do and undo. Yet, despite His plan and the infinite capacity to execute it once, our God chose to lay down a principle for all his creation, which is, he want them to appreciate SMALL BEGINNING, GROWTH, FRUITFULNESS and MULTIPLICATION. That was why he started with just one man and his wife, Adam and Eve, with the mandate to "be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth". This comes with patience and agenda for sustainability. Again, Our Lord Jesus Christ, the son of the living God and the Messiah of mankind from sin, had a mandate from his Father to come into the world and rescue it from the grip of satan. He had the power and the capaci...

Opinion: Amb. Muri praises Gov Agbu Kefas for completing unfinished projects in the state.

If there is one valuable lesson that future Governors of Taraba State should take from the leadership of H.E Dr. Agbu Kefas, it is the importance of taking pride in completing unfinished projects left behind by predecessors. Why start from scratch when you can build upon existing foundations? By successfully concluding and inaugurating a project, you can rightfully claim ownership and allocate resources to other sectors. For instance, Rev Jolly Nyame's Market after Mile 6 Jalingo has been revitalized, upgraded and transformed into Kefas (Palliative) Modern Market with minimal expenditure. Similarly, Kefas Ultra Modern Abattoir Jalingo was completed after being initiated by former Governor Danbaba in Sabon Gari Jalingo. Even the General Hospital in Lissam which had been abandoned during DDI's tenure but was revived under Agbu Kefas' administration may be renamed as Kefas Comprehensive Healthcare Centre Lissam. This way we discourage governments from abandoning projects merel...
