Disaster: Fire guts a block of four classrooms at GSSS Jalingo.

Fire has gutted a block of four classrooms at Government Science Secondary School Jalingo.

Speaking during her on the spot assessment of inferno, Commissioner Ministry of Education Dr Augustina Godwin described it as a setback in the educational sector.

The Commissioner averred that unfortunate inferno at Government Science Secondary School in Jalingo will not deter Governor Agbu Kefas led government from striving to create more conducive learning environment for students.

She urged Tarabans to take ownership of Government facilities and safeguard the facilities within their communities and to actively support Dr. Agbu Kefas’s vision for transforming the state.

Dr. Augustina expressed dismay over the incident saying it is an act of sabotage. .

After inspecting the scene she announced that a committee will be constituted to investigate the root cause of the inferno and to provide solutions to avert recurrence.

Earlier on the arrival of the Commissioner, Principal of the school Mr Joseph Kola Gana, briefed the Commissioner and her team on the level of damage done as well as toured them round the scene of the incident.

The Commissioner was accompanied by key officials including the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Idris A. Goje, the ministry's Secretary, the Executive Secretary of Taraba State Post Primary Schools Management Board, Elder Dan'azumi Navoki Hassan and directors in the ministry.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
