Taraba @35: Ex-Army Pikin President Salutes Tarabans, Commends Governor Kefas.

The President of the Ex-Army Pikin Association (EAPA), Taraba State Chapter, Sunday Stephen, Esq., has congratulated the people of Taraba State on the 35th anniversary of the state’s creation, describing the milestone as an opportunity to celebrate the state’s resilience, diversity and achievements.

In a goodwill message marking the anniversary, Stephen extended warm felicitations to Tarabans and reflected on the journey of the state over the past 35 years.

He noted that Taraba has recorded significant progress and development across various sectors, while its rich cultural heritage, vast natural resources and diverse communities continue to distinguish it as a unique state.

The EAPA President commended the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas for what he described as its efforts to advance development in key sectors, particularly agriculture, education and healthcare.

He also applauded initiatives aimed at promoting peace, unity and peaceful coexistence among the state’s diverse communities, stressing that collective commitment remains essential to building a stronger and more prosperous Taraba.

Stephen commended Tarabans for their hard work, dedication and determination to contribute to the growth of the state, urging citizens to sustain the spirit of unity and cooperation for the benefit of present and future generations.

“As we celebrate this important milestone, we must remember and honour those who contributed to the growth and development of Taraba State and build upon the legacies they left behind,” he said.

The EAPA President also expressed appreciation to Governor Kefas for appointing one of the association’s members, Hon. Nelson Nathaniel Banker, as Chairman of the Taraba State Committee on Recovery and Confiscation of Government Lands.

He described the appointment as a demonstration of confidence in the capacity of the appointee and expressed optimism that he would discharge the responsibility with dedication and integrity.

Stephen urged Tarabans to continue supporting efforts aimed at promoting peace, development and good governance, saying the collective responsibility of citizens remains crucial to achieving a prosperous future for the state.

He wished Taraba State continued peace, unity and prosperity, while congratulating all Tarabans on the 35th anniversary.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.
