SECURITY:Appawa Monarch Cracks Down on Illegal Land Sales, Urges Peaceful Coexistence Between Farmers and Herders.

The District Head of Appawa in Lau Chiefdom, Taraba State, Pastor Amos Soyi, has called on farmers and herders in the district to respect one another's rights as part of efforts to sustain peace, strengthen security, and attract more government development projects to the area.

Pastor Soyi made the appeal during a security meeting and in an interview with journalists in Appawa, stressing that peaceful coexistence remains the foundation for meaningful socio-economic development.

The traditional ruler warned residents against the indiscriminate sale of parcels of land, particularly to strangers whose identities and backgrounds cannot be verified, describing the practice as a threat to the security of the district.

According to him, allowing unknown individuals to acquire land could expose the community to criminal elements and undermine the peace currently being enjoyed in the area.

He disclosed that the warning became necessary following reports of unauthorized sales of farmlands in communities across Jimlari Ward of Lau Local Government Area.

Pastor Soyi cautioned that anyone found engaging in illegal land transactions would face traditional sanctions and could also be reported to the appropriate government authorities for further action.

He urged residents to support the government's efforts at tackling insecurity by remaining vigilant and promptly reporting suspicious persons and activities within their communities to security agencies.

The royal father also commended the cordial working relationship between residents and security personnel, describing it as a key factor in maintaining law and order in Appawa District. He appealed for the continued cooperation of all stakeholders in safeguarding lives and property.

Pastor Soyi further praised the Chairman of Lau Local Government Council, Hon. Julius Vau Peter, for his commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening community security across the local government.

In separate remarks, the Councillor representing Jimlari Ward, Hon. Robison Yohanna Jwabong, and the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lau Local Government, Hon. James Abba, commended the District Head for convening the security meeting.

They noted that the initiative would complement the efforts of government and security agencies in promoting peace, preventing conflicts, and enhancing community-based security in Lau Local Government Area.

The stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to working with traditional institutions, security agencies, and the government to preserve the prevailing peace and ensure sustainable development across the district.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
