SANITATION: Concern Mounts Over Unpaid Sanitation Workers in Sunkani.

Concern has been raised over the alleged non-payment of sanitation workers attached to the Sunkani branch in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State since January.

The concern was expressed in a social media post, which questioned the status of the workers’ salaries in view of the state government’s emphasis on maintaining cleanliness across Taraba.

The post alleged that workers at the Sunkani branch had not received their payments since January and queried whether they had been excluded from the official payroll.

“Considering the emphasis of the Executive Governor on maintaining cleanliness in Taraba, it is concerning that the Sunkani branch in Ardo-Kola LGA has not received payment since January. Are they excluded from the payroll?” the post stated.

The development, if confirmed, could raise concerns about the welfare of sanitation workers whose services are essential to maintaining environmental cleanliness in communities.

The allegation also comes against the backdrop of the administration’s reported emphasis on environmental sanitation and the need for residents and relevant agencies to sustain clean and healthy surroundings.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official response from the Taraba State Government or the relevant sanitation authorities regarding the alleged arrears or the payroll status of the affected workers.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
