Osun Poll: Power Belongs to the People, Not Ruling Party — Danji SS Media Team.

By Jako Keke, August 16, 2026

The Danji SS Media Team has congratulated the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the recently concluded governorship election, describing the outcome as a strong reminder that political power ultimately resides with the people.

In a political analysis issued on Sunday, the team said Adeleke’s victory, despite the involvement and support of prominent political figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC), demonstrated that voters remain the decisive force in determining who governs them through the ballot box.

The team said the outcome holds a significant lesson for Taraba State ahead of the 2027 governorship election, warning political parties against assuming that control of the Federal Government automatically translates into electoral victory at the state level.

According to the group, electoral success is secured through the confidence, trust and support of the electorate, rather than the influence of political heavyweights or control of political structures at the centre.

Drawing parallels between Osun and Taraba, the Danji SS Media Team cautioned the APC against taking its position as the ruling party at the national level as an assurance of victory in Taraba State in 2027.

It further expressed confidence in what it described as the growing grassroots acceptance of Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

The team maintained that the people of Taraba would ultimately determine the winner of the 2027 governorship election, stressing that political connections and federal influence could not substitute for a genuine electoral mandate.

“The Osun election has once again reaffirmed that power belongs to the people. No political party, no matter how powerful, should take the people for granted or assume that victory is guaranteed simply because it controls the centre,” the statement said.

The team added: “We remain confident that with the support and mandate of Tarabans, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi (Danji SS) can emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election and provide the leadership our people deserve.”
