By Keke Jako, August 23, 2026.

Gospel music minister, Haggai Wanu Yakubu, has launched his maiden gospel album, “Seek First the Kingdom of God” (Mu Bidi Mulkin Allah), with a call on Christians, particularly youths, to use their talents in advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The album was unveiled at the Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria (CRCN), Local Church Council (LCC), Sabongari, Jalingo, in an event attended by gospel ministers, church leaders, family members, friends and other Christian faithful.

The gathering provided an opportunity for the church community to celebrate what participants described as a significant step in Yakubu’s commitment to propagating the gospel through music.

Speaking at the occasion, the Resident Pastor of CRCN, Rev. Bobzom Kunlomi, urged Christian youths to make themselves available for the service of God and deploy their God-given talents for the advancement of His kingdom.

Rev. Kunlomi commended Yakubu for his dedication and commitment to Christian ministry, describing him as a devoted servant of God whose passion for gospel music could inspire other young Christians.

He said music remained an integral part of Christian worship and evangelism, urging believers to use it as a powerful medium for spreading messages of faith, peace, hope and salvation.

The clergyman also called for greater support for gospel ministers, stressing that encouragement and assistance from the Christian community would enable them to reach more people with the Word of God through music.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Hon. Emmanuel Biti Simon expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the album launch.

He praised Yakubu for remaining committed to the service of God despite the distractions and pressures associated with worldly pursuits, saying his decision to use his talent for evangelism would enable him to make greater impact in Christendom.

In an interview, the celebrant, Minister Haggai Wanu Yakubu, said the journey to producing the album was challenging but expressed gratitude to God for making the project a reality.

Yakubu explained that after discovering his potential in music, he decided to embrace the talent as a means of preaching the gospel and touching lives.

He said he was determined to continue using music to communicate the Word of God and inspire people to develop a closer relationship with Him.

According to him, two of the songs that particularly resonate with him are “Mu Bidi Mulkin Allah,” translated as “Seek First the Kingdom of God,” and “Rufin Asiri,” meaning “Contentment.”

He said the songs emphasise the importance of putting God first, cultivating contentment and maintaining faith amid the challenges of life.

Yakubu urged Christian youths across Taraba State to serve God diligently by identifying and developing their talents and using them positively in the church and society.

He expressed appreciation to all those who honoured his invitation and supported the launch, praying for God’s blessings upon them.

The album launch featured gospel music performances, choreography, donations and other activities, providing an atmosphere of worship, thanksgiving and celebration.
