FAITH: Fr. Muke Urges Tarabans to Remain Faithful, Hopeful Amid Challenges.

The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Christian Religion Matters, Very Rev. Fr. Sunday Patrick Muke, has urged Christians and residents of the state to remain steadfast in faith, prayer and hope, particularly in times of difficulty.

Fr. Muke gave the charge in his message to the faithful on Sunday, August 16, 2026, reflecting on the Gospel reading from Matthew 15:21–28, which recounts the story of the Canaanite woman who persistently sought healing for her daughter from Jesus Christ.

According to him, the biblical account demonstrates the power of unwavering faith and persistence in seeking God's intervention, even when answers appear delayed or circumstances seem discouraging.

He noted that the Canaanite woman's determination to continue pleading with Jesus despite the obstacles ultimately led to the healing of her daughter, describing the account as a powerful reminder that genuine faith requires patience, trust and perseverance.

“Faith means trusting God even when the answer seems delayed,” Fr. Muke said, encouraging Christians not to allow challenges and disappointments to weaken their confidence in God.

He urged families and communities across Taraba State to remain prayerful and hopeful, stressing that perseverance in faith could help people navigate difficult moments while maintaining hope for better days.

The cleric also called for peace, unity and prosperity in Taraba State and Nigeria, praying that God would strengthen the faith of the people, bless their families and communities, and grant lasting peace to the nation.

Fr. Muke's message comes amid continued calls for unity, peaceful coexistence and collective responsibility in building a stronger and more prosperous society.

He urged the faithful to draw inspiration from the Canaanite woman's example by refusing to give up in the face of adversity and continuing to trust in God's promises.

“May the Lord strengthen our faith, bless our families and communities, and grant peace, unity and prosperity to our dear Taraba State and Nigeria,” he prayed.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
