COURTESY: NBA Jalingo Seeks Stronger Police Partnership on Criminal Justice.

The newly elected leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Jalingo Branch, has visited the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, CP Morkwap Dongshal, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between legal practitioners and the Police in the administration of criminal justice.

The courtesy visit, which took place on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Taraba State Police Command Headquarters in Yorro, was part of the branch’s ongoing familiarisation tour.

Led by the executive committee of the NBA Jalingo Branch, Daniel Saredau PhD the delegation formally introduced the newly elected leadership to the Police Command and discussed areas of mutual interest in the discharge of their professional responsibilities.

The visit was also aimed at fostering stronger institutional partnerships and reinforcing a cordial and professional relationship between police officers and members of the legal profession.

Receiving the delegation, CP Morkwap Dongshal welcomed the NBA leadership and expressed his commitment to supporting the growth and advancement of the Jalingo Branch.

The Commissioner acknowledged the important role of lawyers as critical stakeholders in the administration of justice, maintenance of law and order, and protection of the rule of law.

He stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the Police and the Bar in ensuring an effective criminal justice system and promoting public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

The NBA delegation, in turn, emphasised the need for sustained professional engagement between both institutions to address challenges that may arise in the course of their respective duties.

The engagement is expected to provide a platform for improved communication and cooperation between legal practitioners and the Police Command in Taraba State.

The NBA Jalingo Branch said the visit underscores its commitment to building constructive institutional relationships that will contribute to effective justice delivery and the rule of law in the state.

The visit forms part of the branch’s broader familiarisation engagements with key stakeholders following the emergence of its new executive committee.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week.
