NBA ELECTION: Badejo-Okusanya Vows Bold Reforms After Emerging NBA President-Elect.

Newly elected President-Elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, FCIArb (UK), has pledged to pursue reforms aimed at improving the welfare and professional practice of lawyers across the country following her victory in the association's presidential election.

In a message of appreciation issued after the announcement of the election results, Badejo-Okusanya thanked NBA members for the confidence reposed in her, describing her election as a collective victory for lawyers who believe in "a bolder Bar that works for everyone."

She expressed gratitude to members who supported her candidacy, her fellow contestants for strengthening the democratic process, and all lawyers who participated in the election.

The President-Elect also acknowledged the contributions of the BBOLD Campaign Council, volunteers, coordinators, supporters, friends, and colleagues, saying their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment made her victory possible.

Badejo-Okusanya further appreciated her husband, family, mentors, and well-wishers for their prayers, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout the campaign.

Declaring that the electioneering process had ended, she said attention would now shift to delivering on the promises made to members of the legal profession.

"I pledge to serve every member of the Nigerian Bar Association with integrity, humility, courage, and accountability," she said, adding that her administration would work towards creating an NBA where lawyers "can earn better, live better, and practise better."

She prayed for God's blessings upon the Nigerian Bar Association and the Federal Republic of Nigeria as she prepares to assume leadership of the country's foremost legal association.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
