NBA ELECTION 2026:'A Milestone for the Bar': NBA Jalingo Cheers Badejo-Okusanya's Election.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Jalingo Branch, has congratulated Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, FCIArb (UK), on her election as the 33rd President-Elect of the Nigerian Bar Association, describing her emergence as a landmark achievement for the legal profession in Nigeria.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Branch Publicity Secretary, L. L. Takdok Esq., the association said Badejo-Okusanya's victory reflects the ideals of excellence, competence and inclusivity that have continued to shape the Nigerian Bar.

The branch noted that her emergence as the incoming leader of the association marks a significant milestone in the history of the NBA and expressed confidence in her capacity to provide purposeful leadership.

"As you prepare to pilot the affairs of our noble association, please accept our full support and solidarity. We look forward to a transformative tenure that will elevate the practice of law and serve the collective interest of all Nigerian lawyers," the statement read.

The Jalingo Branch reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the President-Elect throughout her tenure and expressed optimism that her administration would strengthen the legal profession, promote the welfare of lawyers and advance the rule of law across the country.

The branch extended  its heartfelt congratulations to Badejo-Okusanya on what it described as a well-deserved electoral victory, wishing her success as she prepares to assume office.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
