LAU LGA: Residents Raise Alarm Over Collapsed Lau Road, Bridge, Urge Taraba Govt to Act.

Concerned residents of Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State have appealed to the state government to urgently rehabilitate the Lankaviri–Garin Mallam road and reconstruct the collapsed Tashan Musa Bridge, warning that the deteriorating infrastructure is threatening lives and crippling economic activities in the area.

In a statement signed by Concerned Citizens, the group said the continued neglect of the road network has left several rural communities cut off, making it difficult for farmers and traders to transport agricultural produce to markets.

According to the statement, the collapse of the Tashan Musa Bridge has severed a major transportation link connecting agrarian communities within the local government, leaving the route inaccessible to vehicles and motorcycles.

The residents expressed concern that the situation has exposed commuters to serious safety risks while also affecting livelihoods, as many farmers are unable to move their produce, resulting in economic losses.

They added that the prolonged condition of the road has heightened frustration among residents, who are calling for swift government intervention to restore access and improve rural infrastructure.

To address the situation, the group urged the Taraba State Government to immediately deploy engineering teams to provide a temporary crossing at the damaged bridge and commence emergency repairs on the Lankaviri–Garin Mallam road through the Taraba State Road Construction and Maintenance Agency (TARCMA).

They also appealed to the government to make adequate budgetary provision for the permanent reconstruction of the bridge and the complete rehabilitation of the road, describing the project as critical to the economic and social wellbeing of communities in the area.

The residents expressed optimism that prompt intervention would restore access, improve the movement of goods and people, and strengthen confidence in the government's commitment to rural development.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention.
