A new executive committee has assumed office at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Jalingo Branch, following a handover and swearing-in ceremony that marked the end of the two-year administration of the immediate past Chairman, Mr. Martin Milkman Karel.
Mr. Karel formally handed over the leadership of the branch after completing his tenure, during which he highlighted key achievements of his administration and expressed appreciation to members for their support and cooperation.
The newly elected Chairman, Dr. Daniel P. Saredau, alongside other executive members, was sworn in by Justice Clara Kataps, who represented the Chief Judge of Taraba State and administered the oath of office.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Saredau thanked members of the association for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to consolidate on the achievements of the immediate past administration. He also promised to pursue initiatives that would strengthen the association, promote professional excellence, and enhance the welfare of members.
The inauguration attracted judges, senior legal practitioners, government officials, judicial officers, and members of the Bar, underscoring the unity and shared commitment of stakeholders in the administration of justice in Taraba State.
The event also featured the presentation of awards to individuals who distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to the legal profession. Committees of the association presented their final reports before being formally dissolved by the new executive.
The transition marks the beginning of a new chapter for the NBA Jalingo Branch, with the incoming leadership expected to deepen the association's role in promoting the rule of law, safeguarding the independence of the judiciary, and advancing the interests of legal practitioners in the state.
