The Taraba State Government has cautioned members of the public against fraudsters exploiting the ongoing civil service recruitment exercise, warning job seekers not to pay money or seek favours in exchange for employment.
The Chairman of the Taraba State Civil Service Commission (CSC), Philip Kundila, gave the warning while addressing journalists in Jalingo.
Kundila urged applicants to disregard anyone claiming to have the influence to secure employment for a fee, describing such claims as false, fraudulent and intended to deceive unsuspecting job seekers.
He stressed that the recruitment exercise is transparent, merit-driven and completely free for all qualified applicants, adding that the commission remains committed to fairness and equal opportunity throughout the process.
The CSC chairman advised prospective candidates to rely solely on official government channels for information and to report anyone involved in recruitment scams to the appropriate security agencies.
Kundila commended Governor Agbu Kefas for approving the recruitment of 1,805 qualified candidates into the Taraba State Civil Service, describing the exercise as a significant step towards strengthening the state's workforce.
He reaffirmed the commission's resolve to conduct a credible recruitment process that guarantees equal opportunities for all eligible applicants.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, David Nya, praised Governor Kefas for his commitment to repositioning the civil service.
Nya disclosed that the government had successfully addressed the issue of over 3,000 alleged ghost workers, noting that the exercise created room for the recruitment of qualified personnel into the service.
He assured the public that the recruitment of more than 1,000 successful candidates would be carried out in a fair, transparent and accountable manner.
The Permanent Secretary further commended the governor for renovating the Civil Service Commission headquarters, saying the facelift has provided a conducive working environment that will enhance staff productivity and improve service delivery.
