ELECTION: LAWSAN Hails Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya's Historic NBA Presidency, Celebrates First Elected Female Leader.

The Law Students' Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) has congratulated Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, popularly known as Mrs. BBOLD, on her historic election as the 33rd President-Elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), describing the feat as a landmark achievement for the legal profession.

In a congratulatory message signed by the National Public Relations Officer of LAWSAN, Shu'aibu Umar Shurfan, OOL, the association noted that Badejo-Okusanya's emergence marks the first time a woman has been elected President of the NBA in the association's history.

LAWSAN commended the President-Elect for running what it described as an innovative and inspiring campaign that resonated across the legal community and culminated in a historic victory.

The association expressed confidence that her leadership would usher in a new era for the Nigerian Bar, stating that it looks forward to her contributions toward building a stronger and more progressive legal profession.

According to the statement, Badejo-Okusanya's election represents a significant milestone not only for the NBA but also for female legal practitioners and aspiring lawyers across the country.

LAWSAN wished the President-Elect wisdom, strength, and excellence as she prepares to assume office, expressing optimism that her tenure would be impactful and beneficial to the advancement of the legal profession in Nigeria.

The association further reaffirmed its support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the Bar and promoting excellence within the nation's legal community.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
