APPOINTMENT:Gov Kefas Appoints Dr. Bulus Maiyaki as Deputy-Director General Taraba South for 2027 Campaign.

By Jako Keke, June 2, 2026.
Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved the appointment of Dr. Bulus Maiyaki( Makaman Donga) as Deputy-Director General, Taraba South, in the Governorship Campaign Team ahead of the 2027 general election.

The appointment was announced in a press release issued and signed by the Director-General of the Campaign, Hon. Danladi Baido Tijos.

Dr. Maiyaki is a technocrat, academic, and seasoned political stakeholder. He previously served Taraba State as Commissioner for Works and later Commissioner for Finance. He also retired as a Director at the Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, where he built a reputation for transparency and due process.

Beyond public office, Maiyaki is widely regarded across Taraba South for his philanthropic interventions and grassroots engagement. Political observers note that his blend of administrative experience and community connection makes him a strategic addition to the campaign structure.

Records show that Dr. Maiyaki has consistently invested in rural development, especially in the power sector. He has supplied and installed over 15 transformers in Wukari, Takum, Donga, Ibi, and Ussa Local Government Areas. No community in the zone, according to stakeholders, has been left untouched by his solar street light projects and allied power appliances, which have improved security and small business activity.

In education, he has awarded more than 5,000 scholarships to youths across Taraba South, covering undergraduate, and vocational training. He is also credited with job creation initiatives that have supported hundreds of young people and women.

Maiyaki is equally known as a bridge builder. He promotes inter-religious tolerance through annual Christmas carols where he distributes wrappers, food items, and relief materials to widows and the less privileged. During Ramadan and Sallah, he provides foodstuffs and rams to Muslim communities. These gestures, stakeholders say, have endeared him to people across religious and ethnic lines and strengthened his reputation as a unifier.

Residents and political stakeholders in Taraba South have welcomed the appointment, describing it as “well deserved”. They cited his grassroots appeal, mobilization capacity, and name recognition in every community across the zone.

Hon. Mansur Usman Dari, a political stakeholder, said Maiyaki has the capacity to deliver on the mandate of mobilizing support for Governor Kefas’ re-election. “We don’t doubt his capacity. He is a rallying point who has long carved a niche for himself. He commands followership through people-oriented projects and inclusive leadership,” Dari stated.

He added that Governor Kefas has recorded remarkable progress in security, education, and youth employment, and with Maiyaki’s grassroots structure, Taraba South will consolidate support for the administration.

According to the Director-General, Hon. Baido Tijos, the appointment is with immediate effect and forms part of the ongoing build-up of the campaign organization for the 2027 gubernatorial election.

He congratulated Dr. Maiyaki and other newly appointed officials, urging them to discharge their duties with diligence, commitment, discipline, and teamwork. “Our goal is to consolidate the widespread support Dr. Agbu Kefas enjoys across the state and ensure victory at the polls,” he said.
