POLICE:Taraba Police, DPP Move to Strengthen Investigations, Boost Criminal Prosecutions.

The Taraba State Police Command has held an interactive session for investigation officers across the state, aimed at enhancing professionalism and adherence to due process in line with the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Taraba State.

The session, which took place on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Police Command Headquarters in Jalingo, brought together officers of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Investigation Police Officers (IPOs) from various formations and units within the command.

The interactive engagement was facilitated by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Taraba State, AD Mustapha, Esq., who emphasized the critical role of thorough investigations, proper documentation, and the timely transmission of case files to the Directorate of Public Prosecution. He highlighted common shortcomings that often hinder successful prosecution and offered practical guidance on how investigating officers can address such challenges.

Mustapha stressed the importance of strict compliance with legal provisions, respect for human rights, and observance of due process, noting that these elements are essential to ensuring justice and boosting public confidence in the criminal justice system. He also urged investigators to work closely with legal officers from the early stages of investigations to improve the quality of case files and prosecution success.
Commending the DPP for the insightful engagement, the Taraba State Police Command reiterated its commitment to continuous capacity building, professionalism, and improved service delivery across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyi, psc, minps, assured members of the public of the command’s determination to enhance crime investigation and prosecution in order to safeguard lives and property and maintain a safe and secure environment in Taraba State.

TARABA: Jenjo Youth Wing Disowns Magaji Gago’s Alleged Remarks Against Kefas, Reaffirms Loyalty.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
