The reigning beauty queen, Miss Donga 2025, Her Royal Majesty Salvation Reuben, has strongly condemned the recent assault on a young girl, Terhemba Ewasem, describing the incident as inhuman and a violation of fundamental human rights.
Miss Reuben made this known after paying a solidarity visit to the victim, popularly known as Charity, who was allegedly assaulted by one Mrs. Ramatu Abbas in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State.
According to the beauty queen, the visit was an emotional but encouraging moment, during which she offered words of comfort, motivation and love to the victim, assuring her that she is not alone and that justice will prevail.
“I sincerely condemn this inhuman act and call on all security agencies and relevant government stakeholders to look critically into such occurrences and take decisive steps to prevent a recurrence,” Miss Reuben stated.
She stressed that violence against minors remains unacceptable and called for stronger community vigilance, child protection mechanisms and swift prosecution of offenders to serve as a deterrent.
Miss Reuben also expressed deep appreciation to the Wife of the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Mrs. Agyin Kefas, whom she described as an “amiable mother,” for her timely and motherly intervention in the matter. She further commended security agencies for the prompt arrest of the alleged culprit, noting that their swift action has helped restore public confidence in the justice system.
The Miss Donga 2025 queen did not fail to acknowledge the overwhelming support shown by members of the public, civil society advocates and concerned residents who rallied around the victim, describing their gestures as a powerful reminder that humanity still stands.
The visit was witnessed by Mr. Donga, who accompanied Miss Reuben during the outreach.
The incident has continued to generate public outrage, with growing calls for justice under the hashtags #JusticeForCharity, #ProtectTheChild, and #TheWorldIsWatching, as stakeholders demand accountability and stronger safeguards for children across the state.
Recalled that the police Public Relations Officer PPRO Taraba State Police Command ASP Victor Mshelizah had told newsmen that the suspect has been remanded at Wukari Correctional facility pending further investigation for prosecution to court.
