Climate change: Taraba AFAN commences sales of save 80 Cooking stove.

By Terna Chikpa, Jalingo The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Taraba state chapter, on Tuesday commenced the sale of climate change, save 80 clean cooking stove. Hajiya Laraba Amina Abdul (WAMBAI), the state chairperson of the association noted during the flagging off ceremony in Jalingo that the Save 80, cooking stove initiative was to reduce the effects of climate change brought about by pollutions from human and industrial activities and deforestation. CHANGE OF BATON: COMMANDANT ANTHONY BALA BITRUS TAKES OVER AS STATE COMMANDANT NSCDC TARABA COMMAND.

Following recent redeployments within the Corps, Commandant Anthony Bala Bitrus has today taken over the reigns of leadership of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Taraba State Command from Commandant Adamu Salihu who was at the helm of affairs in the Command since May 2023. SERMON: Pastor Mark Tikwe says Christian should not give up no matter the life challenges.

Pastor Mark Tikwe of Christ Glorious Army Church Mile Six Jalingo has urged Christians not to give up no matter the life challenges.  This was the central message while delivering a Sunday sermon to the congregation today. Pastor who read Revelations chapter 12, Judges chapter 6 reminded Christians that God is aware of all their Challenges and will deliver them from it. He said Christians can overcome all life challenges if they stick to their Faith to God. The Preacher told believers that those who faithful in their services to God will always excel in their lives endeavours. Monthly Sanitation: Adamawa State Commissioner okays compliance

Adamawa state monthly Environmental Sanitation Committee has visited Fufore Local Government to monitor the level of compliance in the area for the October mont exercise.  The delegation led by the commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Alhaji Sadiq Wali on behalf of the Chairperson of the exercise, Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta, consisted of three other Commissioners, directors and some staff of the host ministry who went round for an on the spot assessment.  Speaking during the exercise, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Barrister Afraimu Jingi explained that the sanitation exercise is key to healthy and peaceful environment.  He encouraged residents to continue to ensure cleanliness and avoid breaching government order in that regards. DONATION: Adamawa Hikers Group gives cash donation to sixty five

The Adamawa state Hikers Group weekend dolled out a cash donation to sixty five patients at the Specialist Hospital Yola. This is the second phase of the outreach of which similar exercise was carried out last year. Speaking in an interview to newsmen, the Adamawa state Chief Hiker Mr. Lazarus Daniel explained that the gesture was out of human feelings. According to him, a lot of people need help especially the sick hence the decision to give the five thousand naira cash donation each to the beneficiaries. Mr. Daniel who said the humanitarian gesture is done once a year by the group urged those interested to feel free and join. BILL: Taraba State House of Assembly today held a public Hearing on Bio-Entreprenuership Innovation and Solutions Agency Establishment Bill.

Taraba State House of Assembly Joint Committee on Science and Technology, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation has held a Public Hearing in respect of the Bio Entrepreneurship Innovation and Solutions Agency Establishment Bill.  The public hearing was aimed at gathering public opinions from the stakeholders to further strengthen the passage of the Bill and establishment of the agency. Addressing the stakeholders present, the Chairman of the committee Hon Joshua Urenyang Rikupki said the Bill is not only timely but will enhance the growth of industries, boost food production and provide job opportunities for the youths and called on the stakeholders to make inputs that would facilitate the passage of the Bill. Taraba State: House Committee on Education visits Ministry and Agencies under it.

The Taraba State House of Committee on Education recently embarked on an Oversight function to the Ministry and some Agencies under it. The visit was to afford the Committee first-hand information on the budget implementation level of the Ministry of Education and other Parastatals. Addressing the management and staff of the ministry, the Committee Chairman,Hon Angye Josiah Yaro said the purpose of the visit is to assess the budget performance of the ministry and Parastatals under it, to ensure that the money allotted them is judiciously put into use for the purposes intended and also to inspect capital projects executed by them. TRAINING:TAGIS organises Capacity building for over thirty participants in Jalingo .

Taraba State Geographic Information Service TAGIS has commenced capacity training for workers efficiency. The training which is ongoing at TAGIS ICT Department Taraba State Agricultural Development Program TADP has over thirty participants. Speaking,Director General DG of TAGIS Surveyor Mark Maaku Joshua said the training on capacity building on digital land Administration was designed to update knowledge of the participants to embrace the digital way of keeping records. He averred that the movement from analog to digital template in keeping records or properties including investment in the state is in line with best global practices, commitment and passion of Governor Agbu Kefas to move the state forward. ECONOMY:Identify the Revenue sources at LG levels for the success of proposed Tax Harmonisation Reforms in Taraba State -Hon Aminu Jauro Hassan.

Chairman Association of Local Governments of Nigeria( ALGON ) Taraba State Chapter,Hon Aminu Jauro Hassan says identification of revenue sources at the local government levels will lead to the success of proposed Tax Harmonisation Reforms in the state. The Chairman who doubled as the Chairman of Jalingo local government Council said this while hosting members of Tax Justice and Governance Platform Taraba State Chapter in his office. Hon Aminu Hassan explained that the idea of Tax Harmonisation is a welcome development but it should clearly defines revenue sources. INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. The statement adds that the culprits were captured during a raid at a local hotel in Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo metropolis where they were hiding.  It adds that Further investigations led to the discovery that the gang's hideout was at Kona Mountain in Jalingo , where additional members of the syndicate were believed to be camped. Newly elected officials Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria,AMDON Taraba State Chapter have been inaugurated. The Inauguration took place at Green Land suites Jalingo.
