TRAINING:TAGIS organises Capacity building for over thirty participants in Jalingo .



Taraba State Geographic Information Service TAGIS has commenced capacity training for workers efficiency.

The training which is ongoing at TAGIS ICT Department Taraba State Agricultural Development Program TADP has over thirty participants.

Speaking,Director General DG of TAGIS Surveyor Mark Maaku Joshua said the training on capacity building on digital land Administration was designed to update knowledge of the participants to embrace the digital way of keeping records.

He averred that the movement from analog to digital template in keeping records or properties including investment in the state is in line with best global practices, commitment and passion of Governor Agbu Kefas to move the state forward.

Surveyor Mark Maaku pointed out that they have staff in all area offices of the sixteen local government areas of the state who are in turn expected to give background of the exercise including evaluation of the processes.

The DG called on all agencies working with TAGIS to support the initiative of Governor Agbu Kefas to ensure that records of the people are secured.

He however said the decision on tax as envisaged by the people would be tackled with a human face by government hence the need for Tarabans not to panic.

Commenting, The Resource Person who is a consultant and a Professional in Geographic Information Services Doctor Bridget Antai expressed confidence on Taraba State to change from the analog way of keeping records to a more global digital acceptable way.

She appreciated the Taraba State Government for providing laptops,computers, infrastructure, network and other gadgets for TAGIS which would no doubt enable her to change mindset of the participants and impact the needed knowledge for them to deliver on the task ahead.

The Resource Person commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his support to TAGIS maintaining that the creation of awareness on new technology in land administration and others is what most governor's are adopting which the case in Taraba State cannot be different.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
