LG Autonomy: Aku Uka Manu Ishaku Adda Ali says LG autonomy is the liberation of traditional institutions in the country.

The Abel Peter Diah led Local Government Autonomy Advisory Committee has taken its sensitization exercise to Southern senatorial district of Taraba State.

Their first point of call was the palace of the Aku Uka In Wukari local government area where traditional rulers of the zone gathered. 

Speaking on behalf of his members, the Chairman of the Taraba State Council of Traditional Rulers,HRH Manu Ishaku Adda Ali said the local government autonomy decision is timely and has saved the traditional institution from embarrassment 

He commended Dr Governor Agbu Kefas for the establishment of the committee in which he promised that the traditional institution would contribute positive input to their success.


Earlier, the Chairman of the  Local Government Advisory Committee Rt Hon Abel Peter Diah told the monarchs that the visit was to get their input on how the autonomy will work for the betterment of the state's residents. 

He acknowledged the noble role of traditional rulers in their various communities which he said has been helping in curtailing all forms of security challenges.

Speaking in an interview,the Chief of the Ibi Traditional Council, HRH Abubakar Salihu Danbawuro appreciated the initiative of Governor Agbu Kefas towards the implementation of the local government Autonomy in the state.


The Monarch lauded the Abel Peter Diah Led committee for their doggedness in ensuring they interface with  stakeholders on how best the implementation of the local government Autonomy in Taraba State.

Event watchers are of the view that the contribution of traditional rulers will help in the committee's recommendation to Governor Kefas for the full implementation of local government autonomy in the state.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. RELIGION: UMC-N Bishop Ande Emmanuel decries continual tensions,calls on Gov.Agbu to waive into the matter.

The Resident Bishop United Methodist Church Nigeria  Episcopal Area, Ande Emmanuel has decried continual tensions impacting the church in Nigeria. The Bishop, in a Press briefing in Jalingo, condemned any act of violence or disrespect to the church, referencing the attack at Banyan Theological Seminary in the Bambur Community of Karim Lamido Local government area.
