Religion: UMC Southern Conference ordains fifty eight.

Southern Conference of United Methodist Church, UMC have ordained fifty eight Pastors Yesterday during their Annual Christian Revival at the Church's Camp ground in Mararaban Appawa Zing road Lau local government area of Taraba State.

The Pastors who were ordained for the office of Elders and Deacons are drawn from the Districts of the Church which served the church in different capacities and found worthy of the new offices.


Bishop Edwin Musa Jarumi of International Praise Church Abuja who ordained  the pastors congratulated them saying it is a privilege to serve God and charged them to brace up for the new challenges ahead of them.

Bishop Jarumi  said the church have confidence in them going through the records of their works and enjoined them  to live a holy life and be faithful to their spouses to enable them succeed in their priesthood assignments.

He reminded the newly ordained Priests that priesthood was a divine call to share in a more intimate manner the pastors of Christ, adding that ministers were called by God to live life of service to others and to be incredible shepherds ready to take on the world, to win soul to Christ Jesus.


Earlier in his sermon the leader of Southern Conference of United Methodist Church The  Reverend Philip Micah Doppah called on Pastors to evaluate their callings whether they were call to serve God in his vineyard  to represent their families or personal interest.


Besides the challenges in the contemporary world,  the leader who doubled as Chairman Tekan-Ecwa church bloc Taraba state Chapter said it is a privilege, honor, and a grace to share in the Priesthood of Jesus Christ, reminding the ordinance that it is not a party time rather pick up the challenge to preach Christ to the nock and crannies of the world and stand by their Ordination oaths.

He enjoined pastors wives to be partners in Mission to support their husbands to go to where they are send to lead God's sheep according to him this will enable them succeed. 

Doctor Philip said priests are ordained to serve the people and they should not limit their loyalty to any group of persons or communities. 


The Reverend Philip Micah Doppah reminded them that It is the reason he told priests to go to wherever they are sent to work, adding that any priest who judges his mission by where he is sent to, by what comfort is not of God.

INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area.
