POLITICS: Taraba PDP Primaries Legitimate,Rival Group Serving Hidden Interests_ Alh Ibrahim Sale.

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Alh. Ibrahim Abba Sale, has dismissed claims of factionalization within the party, alleging that individuals parading themselves as leaders of rival groups are acting on the script of undisclosed political sponsors determined to destabilize the party.

Speaking during an interview with journalists in Jalingo while assessing the conduct of the PDP primaries in the state, Alh Ibrahim Sale maintained that there is only one recognized PDP structure in Taraba and described other groups laying claim to the party's leadership as impostors seeking to create confusion among members.

According to him, party faithful across the state are fully aware of what he described as the "mischievous activities" of those attempting to undermine the party's cohesion ahead of the forthcoming elections.

"When you say faction, it baffles me because we do not have any faction in the PDP. We are one indivisible party. All the primaries we conducted were monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). You can verify from INEC whether they were present at the primaries they supervised," he stated.

The PDP chieftain insisted that the party's primary elections across Taraba State were largely peaceful, transparent and credible, stressing that the process complied with laid-down electoral guidelines and party regulations.

While acknowledging reports of minor disagreements in some areas during the exercise, Ibrahim said such occurrences are not unusual in a democratic process and expressed confidence that the party's leadership would address all grievances through established internal mechanisms.

"Democracy allows for differing opinions and interests. Any misunderstanding that arose during the primaries will be resolved amicably in the interest of unity, good governance and the overall progress of our party," he said.
He urged party supporters and stakeholders not to be distracted by activities of the rival groups, insisting that their actions would neither affect the legitimacy of the primaries nor alter the outcome of the party's internal processes.

Alh. Ibrahim congratulated all candidates who emerged victorious during the primaries and commended party members for their maturity, discipline and peaceful conduct throughout the exercise.

He expressed optimism about the PDP's prospects in future elections, saying the party remains firmly rooted across Taraba State and is poised to reclaim political dominance.

The chairman further called on members to remain united and committed to the ideals of the party, noting that the PDP remains the most formidable political platform in the state.

Commenting on the current state of the party, Ibrahim Abba Sale declared that loyal PDP members were prepared to mobilize massively against politicians who had abandoned the party for other political platforms, insisting that the PDP would continue to consolidate its structures and strengthen its grassroots support base across the state.

He reaffirmed the leadership's commitment to fostering unity, inclusiveness and internal democracy, stressing that the party would emerge stronger from any challenges confronting it.
