CONDOLENCE:Governor Mutfwang Mourns Media Icon Leo Keyen, Describes Death as Monumental Loss.

Governor of Plateau State, , has expressed profound grief over the death of renowned broadcaster and media veteran, , describing his passing as a monumental loss to Plateau State, Nigeria, and the global broadcasting community.

In a condolence message issued on Friday, Governor Mutfwang paid glowing tribute to the late media icon, noting that Keyen's unwavering commitment to excellence, truth, and public service earned him widespread respect and admiration both within Nigeria and internationally.

The governor recalled Keyen's remarkable contributions to the growth and development of the , where he served twice as General Manager. According to him, the veteran broadcaster transformed the corporation into one of Nigeria's most respected public broadcasting institutions through visionary leadership, innovation, and professionalism.

Mutfwang further lauded Keyen's role in promoting peace and social cohesion in Plateau State, particularly through the introduction of the Healing Point radio and television programme. He noted that the initiative provided a crucial platform for dialogue, reconciliation, healing, and hope during some of the state's most challenging periods, helping to foster greater understanding among diverse communities.

The governor also highlighted Keyen's distinguished international career with the , where he rose to become Chief of the Hausa Service. In that capacity, he expanded access to credible news and information across West Africa through multiple media platforms, strengthening democratic engagement and amplifying the voices of millions of people throughout the region.

Describing the late broadcaster as a worthy ambassador of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang said Keyen's outstanding achievements brought honour to the state and inspired generations of journalists, broadcasters, and communication professionals.

On behalf of the government and people of Plateau State, the governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the Keyen family, the management and staff of Voice of America, members of the Nigerian media community, former colleagues at PRTVC, and all those whose lives were touched by the late broadcaster's exceptional service.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of Keyen's soul and asked God to grant his family, friends, and loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State.  A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire. Their primary target was said to be Baba Umaru Gambo, a former youth leader of the community and current Commander of the Taraba Marshal in Kurmi Local Government Area.
