Senator Emmanuel Bwacha has formally entered the race for the 2027 governorship election in Taraba State after picking up his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The announcement was made in an official press release issued by the Bwacha Media Campaign Team on Tuesday, signaling what it described as the beginning of a “mission-driven” campaign anchored on development and inclusive governance.
According to the statement, Bwacha’s decision to contest is driven by a commitment to advancing progress in key sectors including rural security, infrastructure development, and economic revitalization across the state. The campaign noted that his aspiration is also a response to growing calls from citizens across Taraba’s three senatorial districts for experienced and visionary leadership.
“Senator Bwacha’s decision to run reflects the collective desire of the people for inclusive governance and sustainable development,” the statement read.
The former senator pledged to pursue a vision of a “New Taraba,” where governance is people-oriented and communities feel the tangible impact of leadership. He also called on stakeholders, party faithful, and the electorate to support his bid, emphasizing unity and shared responsibility in building a more secure and prosperous state.
The declaration marks an early move in what is expected to be a competitive build-up to the 2027 general elections in Taraba State.
The statement was signed by JY Nafinji, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Bwacha.
