RUMOURS: Solomon Denies Withdrawal from Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Race, Reaffirms APC Ambition.

Hon. Leah Olusiyi Solomon has dismissed rumours claiming she has withdrawn from the race for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency seat, describing the reports as false and misleading.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday by her campaign organization, the aspirant insisted that she remains fully committed to contesting the seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State.

The statement was signed by the Public Relations Office of the Hon. Leah Olusiyi Solomon Campaign Organization and dated May 5, 2026.

Solomon, who recently completed the purchase of her Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, alleged that the rumours were the handiwork of “sponsored and unscrupulous elements” seeking to weaken her rising political profile and growing support base.

She urged party members, supporters, and the general public to disregard what she termed misinformation, emphasizing that her ambition remains intact as preparations intensify ahead of the party’s primaries.

Reaffirming her determination, the aspirant pledged to provide purposeful and quality representation if given the mandate, while calling for sustained support from constituents throughout the electoral process.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Six Brigade Nigeria Army headquarters, Jalingo, Captain Olubodunde Oni says the Brigade act on an intelligence report and two suspects, identified as Ali Idi and Haruna Umar were apprehended early this week. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
