POLITICS: Mathias Luka Agbu Joins Wukari/Ibi House of Reps Race Under APGA, Seeks Credible Representation.

Engineer Mathias Luka Agbu, popularly known as MLA, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the next general election.

Agbu first contested the seat in 2023 on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, where he garnered significant votes. His campaign gained traction through his track record of grassroots leadership and empowerment programs under the Luka Agbu Foundation, which has benefited hundreds across the constituency.

In a message to constituents, Agbu urged the people of Wukari/Ibi federal constituency to back his aspiration, promising unmatched development if elected.

“Dear Wukari/Ibi Constituents, support Engr. Mathias Luka Agbu’s aspiration and you will experience unprecedented development. He is the credible candidate to restore Wukari and Ibi to its glorious days and ensure true grassroots representation,” a statement from a supporter read.

Agbu said his focus remains on restoring the constituency’s lost glory through people-centered representation, youth empowerment, and sustainable development projects at the grassroots level.

The Wukari/Ibi seat is expected to be keenly contested, with Agbu positioning himself as a candidate with proven grassroots reach and a record of direct impact through his foundation.

INSECURITY: Two suspected kidnappers nabbed in Mayo Dassa, Jalingo.

Troops of six Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters ,Jalingo have dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing parts of Jalingo and Lau Local Government Areas of Taraba State. INSECURITY:Bissaula Community Leader Raises Alarm Over Renewed Attack, Calls for Lasting Security Deployment.

A community leader in Bissaula Ward of Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Alhaji Idi Ismaila, has decried a fresh wave of violence that disrupted the fragile peace recently restored to the area. He made the remarks during a press briefing where he recounted the latest attack and appealed for urgent government intervention. According to Ismaila, the Bissaula community was thrown into panic on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., when unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Ndaka-Chamba militia, stormed the village and opened fire.
